Introduction

Well, here it is - my first official blog entry. I have been hesitant to jump into the 21st century - part of which stems from my nostalgia for the simpler life before technology. However, the younger and much more hip members of my family are helping me to realize how cool technology really can be! So, here I am, blogging...

Being so new to this, I'm not really sure where to start, so I guess I'll just give a little background info and start with today! Our family consists of my husband, Jeff, me and our two little girls - Maya (5 years) and Marisa (4 years). Maya attends kindergarten and Marisa attends a parent-participation preschool. Jeff works in the work comp industry for a government agency and I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom. I get the opportunity to work in Maya's classroom 2 days per week and Marisa's classroom 2 days per month. I also help out the school's box top lady - she calls me her faithful assistant. (Contact me if you want any tips about boxtops!) At church, I'm the music leader for the Primary (junior sunday school) - which I think is the greatest job of all! Above is a picture of Marisa at preschool - she loves it there!

Last weekend our family had a great time together. We recently turned Friday night into "Family Fun Night". We get takeout or make fun finger food and eat it in front of a movie or while playing the Wii. Last Friday was special - they had a family movie night at school where they showed Wall-E on the big screen. We ate popcorn, nachos and corndogs while we watched the movie. Maya's teacher and her two daughters were even there. They all huddled together with Maya and other girls from her class during the movie - it was like seeing girls at a slumber party.

On Saturday, we got to go have lunch at Nana's house with Uncle Marc. She made homemade pizza and her yummy Mrs. Field's cookies. The girls spent the afternoon playing with Legos and calling Marc "trouble" while we chatted away the afternoon. On the way home, we stopped by Aunt Katie's and to our surprise, Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike were there. It was a fun impromptu gathering. We love having our family so close!
